This June, Labor Neunzehn and AVARIE will make their first appearance at the 3rd edition of NUSCA | Independent Publishing and Cinema Festival, gathering independent publishers and film practitioners at Moving Lab in Venice on June 13–14.
Join us on Sunday, June 14, from 12–9 pm to browse our publications, learn more about our curatorial activities, and exchange ideas with us.
On this occasion, we will present the collection of Kamera Cahiers, co-edited with AVARIE for the Kamera series—an ongoing project dedicated to experimental film and printed matter—with a special focus on the latest issue devoted to American-Syrian visual artist Christine Gedeon. Alongside the Kamera Cahiers, a selection of past and recent AVARIE publications will also be on view, including From Static Oblivion by Ion Grigorescu and Snaturamenti | a Workbook by Flatform on displacement, co-published with Light Cone éditions.
NUSCA Festival was born in 2024 to create a space free from institutional constraints, where independent practices in publishing and cinema could meet and speak to one another. More than a simple exhibition event, it is conceived as an ecosystem of exchange — bringing together an independent publishing fair, film screenings, workshops and informal gatherings — that gives visibility to creatives working outside traditional circuits.
