Miss Read | The Berlin Art Book Fair brings together a wide selection of the most interesting artists/authors, artist periodicals and art publishers and is accompanied by a series of lectures, discussions, book launches and workshops exploring the boundaries of contemporary publishing and the possibilities of the book.
In conjunction, the annual Conceptual Poetics Day explores the imaginary border between visual art and literature.
Along with a choice of its past publications, AVARIE will present KAMERA CAHIERS – special edition issues accompanying KAMERA SERIES | an ongoing screening program of experimental films and printed matter curated in collaboration with Labor Neunzehn.

ABOUT AVARIE
AVARIE [Artbooks Vuoti A Rendere International Edition] is a Paris/Berlin based independent publisher founded in 2012 by Giuliana Prucca, specializing in contemporary art and photo books and exploring the relationship between texts and images, body and space. With thoughtful stylistic choices, accurate studies on contents and particular attention to the quality of materials, AVARIE sees books as a jamming incident in the system: a privileged space of creation that results from a close collaboration with the artist and the graphic designer, at the outskirts of commercial production.

KAMERA CAHIER N° 1 | N° 2 | N° 3 | N° 4 are the first special edition issues, accompanying KAMERA SERIES | experimental films and printed matter, respectively dedicated to Lina Selander, Pauline Julier, Ion Grigorescu and Maria Iorio / Raphaël Cuomo
Independent artists’ booklets to collect, curated and designed by Giuliana Prucca and Valentina Besegher Scotti, they compile a missing image or an unreleased second of a film, expanded to 24 pages, and perfomed writings coming from texts, scripts, books, notes. They contain a small piece directly removed from the exhibition.
Published in 75 numbered copies by AVARIE and Labor Neunzehn, cahiers’ covers are printed in letterpress by Archivio Tipografico with lead typeface Magister designed by Aldo Novarese in 1966.
